When gestural to UK independent record label, Rough Trade they released 2 EPs, "Final Day" and "Testcard", & a single acclaimed & super influential album entitled Colossal Youth (the information to the statues implied in their title).

A b& toured & played inside the U.s.a., Japan & Europe, and played in San Francisco, Vancouver, Future York, Berlin. Road companions involved a band Cabaret Voltaire.

Influences involved Eno, Kraftwerk, Neil Young, Lou Reed, The Velvet Underground, Roxy Music, David Bowie, Can and others. A band were acquainted using Scritti Politti, the band of Cardiff native Green Gartside, and ended higher sign-language to the equivalent label, Rough Trade records. It was revealed in the 2003 book Journals that the band were, along by having Scotland's The Vaselines, Kurt Cobain's favourite band. Courtney Love's band Hole covered the Young Marble Giants track "Credit In The Straight World".

Fallowing a band split higher within 1981, Stuart Moxham formed The Gist. Alison Statton formed Weekend. Phil Moxham went in to play bass for The Communards and Everything But The Girl, who were Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn's group. He features in one of their albums.

It was rumoured that a band may reform inside 2004 to produce newly recordings, however this design has non eventually surfaced.
